Darrell Blevins - 1949-2012

WEBBVILLE — Darrell Blevins, 63, of Webbville passed away Thursday May 10, 2012, at his residence.    

He was born April 2, 1949, the son of Darrell Blevins Sr. and Bessie Oney Blevins.

He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church in Webbville. He was also associated with Valley Heights Southern Baptist in Phoenix, Ariz., and was diirector of Operation Care Food and Clothing Bank in Phoenix.

He was employed as a union operator with Local 118 with Capitol Tunneling in Columbus, Ohio.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Otto Chaffin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Loretta Chaffin Blevins; mother-in-law, Pearl Chaffin; two daughters,Darelena (Harlan) Ferguson of Webbville, and Rebecca (Marvin) Dearfield of Grayson; one brother Gareth David Blevins of Catlettsburg; one half sister, Judy Salyers of Grayson; five grandchildren, Walker, Chelsea, Cierra, Gabriel, and Alexis as well as one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Shea.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Gerald Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in East Carter County Memory Gardens.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the funeral home.

A dinner for family and friends will be at First Baptist Ministry Center following the burial.

Darrell was blessed by many special aunts, cousins, uncles, and friends.
