RACELAND — Chloetine Brown, 98, of Raceland, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the Oakmont Manor Nursing Home in Flatwoods.

She was a daughter of the late Chester and Gertrude McKnight Brown. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Pat Brown, Charles “Hop” Brown and Edward R. Brown; and one sister, Goldie B. Spruill.

Chloetine was formerly the manager of the Lawson Hardware in Raceland for 37 years where she made many friends. After she retired, she willingly became the caregiver at home to both her aging parents and her brother, Par, until their deaths.

She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Flatwoods, where she was saved and faithfully attended until she became ill and was unable, due to natural aging.

Surviving are one dear sister-in-law, Juanita Brown; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Temple Baptist church in Flatwoods, by Pastor Jim Pridemore and Pastor Doug McCaleb. Burial will follow in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
