David Ralph Hunt, 69, of Ashland, passed peacefully at his home on March 29, 2013, in the presence of his loving family.
Mr. Hunt was born Feb. 15, 1944, in Ashland, a son of the late Ralph and Ola Mitchell Hunt.
He retired with after 28 years of service as an accountant for the invoicing department at Ashland Oil Inc. He loved being a member and treasurer of the Catlettsburg Elks and was a longtime member of the American Legion and Moose lodge. He enjoyed working in his yard and was meticulous about how it was maintained. He was an avid fan of UK Wildcats basketball and the Cincinnati Bengals and also enjoyed Sunday afternoon NASCAR races.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 14 years, Andrea Wheaton; children by marriage Laura Bolling of Ashland and Kristopher Stafford and wife Linda of Seaview, Wash.; sisters Ruth Davis and husband Bob of Ashland and Sharon Mumma and husband Rob of Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren whom he adored, Julia Bolling, Alex Bolling, Nick Stafford and Evie Stafford; beloved nephews Matt Davis and wife Cathy, Hunter Mumma and Corey Davis; and his dogs, who were his babies, Beauregard and Cedric.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Hunt will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Pastor Richard Brown will offer a message of comfort, with a heartfelt eulogy by Mike Campbell. Final rest will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery.
