Mrs. Charlotte Binion Adkins, 82, of Sandy Hook, passed away Saturday evening, April 6, 2013, in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel Holbrook Binion.
Charlotte was of the Protestant faith and was a bookkeeper for Lincoln-Mercury Garage in Ashland, the City of Ashland and Dalton Nursing Home in Ohio. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Autie Adkins Jr.; a daughter, Cynthia Binion Newsome; and two brothers, Clayton Binion and Coleman Binion.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Lori Lynn Pazameta of Niantic, Conn.; four grandchildren, Charlotte Amanda Cullipher, Jack Joseph Miller Jr., Kindra Lynn Miller and Kenneth Marshall Newsome III; three great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Marie Cullipher, Brandon Thomas Cullipher and Serena Marie Korzen; a brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Doris Binion of Wake Forest, N.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Iris and Jack Hall of Worthington; a sister-in-law, Alice Joy Binion of Grayson; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, April 10, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill by Elder J. D. Riggs. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
