Glenn W. Boyles 1940-2014

RUSH — Glenn William Boyles, 73, of Rush, formerly of Greenup, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2014, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mr. Boyles was born Aug. 13, 1940, in Greenup, a son of the late Howard and Lucy Davis Boyles.

Glenn was a retired bus driver for the Greenup County School District. He was a former pastor of the Pumpkin Center in Argillite and a preacher for several local churches. He enjoyed working on small engines and lawn mowers. One of his favorite hobbies was fox hunting.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Hannah Boyles; three brothers; and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hayton Boyles; a son, Jimmy Raye Boyles of Greenup; a daughter, Peggy (Terry) Huffman of Warnock; a stepson, Ricky (Sherry) Fannin of Ashland; two stepdaughters, Jennifer (Jimmy) Adams of Webbville and Raenotta Fannin of Catlettsburg; two sisters, Juanita Gullett of Wurtland and Neva Greathouse of Greenup; a special friend, Theodore “Boone” Palmer of Greenup; two grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by the Rev. Ray Sexton, the Rev. Matthew Adams and Brother Timmy Porter. Burial will be in Warnock Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
