Helen Louise Ratcliff Slone 1928-2013

CARTER — Helen Louise Ratcliff Slone, 85, of Grayson, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland after an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1928, in Willard, to the late Lloyd and Goldie Ratcliff.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Jean Slone Smith; and her brothers, Ernie Ratcliff and Don Ratcliff.  

Mrs. Slone was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing and devoted much time to be with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and dining out. She was a member of the Maranatha Bible Church of Webbville. She will be sadly missed.  

Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Slone; her children, Barbara (Ronald) Rice and Richard (Patsy) Slone all of Grayson; six grandchildren, Jeff (Brooke) Rice, Alia Rice Porter, Amy Smith, Kerri (Dale) Martin, Adrienne (Kyle) Lubert and Adam Slone; 10 great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Lafe O’Bryan, Cameron and Ian Rice, Olivia, Elaina and Samuel Martin, Nicholas and Lilly Porter and Mahaila Lubert; two brothers, Bill (June) Ratcliff and Richard Eugene Ratcliff, both from Urbana, Ohio; two sisters, Jane (Lester) Petty of Urbana and Linda (Lloyd) Tackett of Grayson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, officiated by Jesse Fyffe and Steve Owens. Burial will be at East Carter Memorial Gardens.
