Nellie Horsley, 72, of Wurtland, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
Mrs. Horsley was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Lee and Pearl Lewis Royster.
She was a former employee of Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Horsley, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Matthew Horsley of Wurtland; three daughters, Marlene (Jason) Akers of Greenup, Betty (Windom) Grace of Greenup and Lori (Frank) Reeves of South Point, Ohio; a brother, Wes Royster of Troy, Ohio; two sisters, Emmie Manuel of Friendship, Ohio, and Bessie Rister of Peebles, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Michael Akers, Stephen Akers, Melissa Moore, Jennifer Moore, Scott Sparks, Chris Niece and Ashley Horsley; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in Grizzle Cemetery at Garrison.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
