Robert Carr Jr., 86, of Greenup, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Carr was born July 24, 1927, in Ashland, to the late Robert and Mada Whitt Carr Sr.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Edna Carr, in 2006; a brother, George Carr; and four sisters, Lillian Hart, Violet Walker, Margaret Hixon and Hilma Hamilton.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (Diane) Carr of Garrison and Robert (Sheila) Carr III of Greenup; three grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Browning of Worthington, Kathy (Luke) Oney of Olive Hill and Michael (Misty) Carr; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Carper and her fiancé, Maurice Wall, Zane Carper, Emily Browning, Isaac Browning, Mason Carr and Moran Carr; and a great-great-grandchild, Hendrix Wall.
“Bob” as most everyone knew him, worked most of his life in construction, most recently for Ashland Asphalt. He enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with family and talking with a wealth of friends and neighbors from throughout the community who would often come by to visit him.
A graveside service will be at noon Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
