William Richard “Rick” Stephens, 53, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2014, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born Jan. 25, 1961, in Ashland, a son of the late William “Pete” and Toni Stephens.
Rick grew up in Napoleon, Ohio, and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1979. After high school, he obtained an associate degree in business from Davis Community College in Toledo, Ohio. He also attended Morehead State University from 1983 to 1985, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
Rick Worked at Sally’s Flowers in Olive Hill and previously managed the Grayson and Morehead Pizza Hut restaurants for 15 years. He was of the Christian faith and devoted his life to his family and the betterment of others. He was a true friend to all animals, and enjoyed music, going to the movies and spending time with his three dogs.
Rick is survived by a sister, Christy Brown and her husband, Gary, of Olive Hill; a nephew, Gary “Cole” Brown of Olive Hill; a niece, Rona (Alphonzo) Brown, and their children, Zoe, Zya, Zion and Zayden, all of Lexington; an aunt, Kimberly Patton, husband Willie and their children, Jessi, Mark and Hollie Pritchard; and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 149 Whitt St. in Olive Hill.
