VIRGINIA BEACH, VA —
Megan Elizabeth Johnson, 4, of Virginia Beach, passed away April 16, 2013, in The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
She was born Aug. 24, 2008, in Virginia Beach, to Laura Johnson Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, William Johnson.
Megan’s strong will and joy for life helped her overcome the many obstacles presented by her illness. On Tuesday, Megan gained victory over her illness. She brought happiness and love to all those around her. For those who knew and loved Megan, may they find peace and comfort in knowing she is “rocking it” in heaven.
She is also survived by a sister, Rebecca Franklin of Virginia Beach; a brother, Adam Franklin of Virginia Beach; grandparents Tom and Beverly Walker Johnson of Sumter, S.C.; and great-grandparents John and Dorothy Walker of Ashland and Elizabeth Johnson of Flatwoods. She is also survived by an uncle, Christopher Johnson, and his wife, Liz, and their son, Elijah, of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; an aunt, Jennifer Franklin, and her son, Andrew, of Virginia Beach; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who hold her very close in their hearts.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Ike Nicholson.
The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
