Louis Perry Fidler, 66, of Ashland, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 28, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Feb. 19, 1947, in Richmond, Va., a son of the late Louis Scott and Mildred Perry Fidler.
Louis was a 1965 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and gardener and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired after many years of service at AK Steel and was the owner and operator of Fidler Home Repair.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Kay Adkins Fidler of Ashland; two sons, Scott Fidler and wife Lisa of Fort Thomas and Aaron Fidler and girlfriend Ashley Hemmings of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Brenda Fidler Baker and husband Jim of Lexington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland, with Pastor Chris Kazee officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post 93 of Kenova.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
