William Daniels - 1928-2014

ASHLAND — William C. Daniels, 85, of Ashland, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland surrounded by his family.

Mr. Daniels was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Greenup County, to the late Elby Harrison and Susie Akers-Daniels. He was a retired carman’s helper with the C&O Railroad and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Palestine Tackett-Daniels, on May 18, 1989; two sisters, Nancy Booth and Clotine Booth; and two brothers, Rob Daniels and Don Daniels.

He leaves behind a loving family, including two sons, Danny Clifford Daniels and his wife, Teresia, of Louisville and John Daniels of Ashland; two daughters, Jeanie Skaggs of Ashland and Katherine White and her husband, Terry, of Pierceton, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Whitt Cemetery on Culp Creek.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
