Imogene Dooli Leadingham 1938-2014

ASHLAND — “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am you may be also.” John 14:2,3.

Imogene Doolin Leadingham was born Feb. 14, 1938, at Redwine, to the late Ellis and Rhoda Craft Doolin Sr.

She was the firstborn of 11 children and was also preceded in death by an infant brother, William Doolin; a sister, Joyce Ann Doolin Brown; a granddaughter, Christal Davis Mills; a great-grandson, Wyatt Adam Mills; and a niece, Stacy Doolin.  

She is survived by six children and their spouses, Wilma and Cledius Collins of Grayson, Kenny and Johnita Leadingham of Wayne, W.Va., Linda and Keith Miller of Cannonsburg, Arlene and Ed Smith of Kenova, W.Va., Teresa and Bob Mills of Flatwoods and and Terry and Tonya Leadingham of Boyd County.

 She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and their families, Rebecca and Matt of Pedro, Ohio, Stacy Handley and Neil of Willard, Bobby Leadingham of Ashland, Brian and Sara Miller of Ashland, April and Ernie Thompson of South Shore, Jamie Miller and Mallorie of Pedro, Kayla Davis and Chris of Bellefonte, Trista and Nick Deweese of Raceland, Branden Leadingham and Cassie of Boyd County, Michelle Williams of Olive Hill, Chris Collins and Regina of Grayson and Justin Hutchinson of Cannonsburg; and 27 great-grandchildren.  

She is also survived by two sisters, Judy (Gary) Sallie and Brenda Yonts, all of Summit; six brothers, Elwood and Rita Doolin of Westwood, Glen Doolin of Wurtland, Charles and Pat Doolin of Arizona, Ellis and Pam Doolin Jr. of Catlettsburg, Donald and Donna Doolin of Ona, W.Va., and David Doolin of Sandy Springs, S.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a special granddog, Pete.

She had a passion for life, was a child of our Lord and Savior and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Olive Hill.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Preston Family Funeral Home by Pastor John Brown. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Leadingham, Brial Miller, Bob Mills, Taylor Watts, Jacob Leadingham and Nick Deweese.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
