Joseph Talmadge “Joe” Bowling, 78, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, following an extended illness.
Joe was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Ashland, to the late William and Inez Carroll Bowling.
He retired from the maintenance department at AK Steel and was a member of Westwood Church of God.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Paul David Bowling; three brothers, Athene Bowling, Earl Bowling and Bill Bowling; and a sister, Mary Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ada Mae Jarvis Bowling; four daughters, Jennifer Reeves of Louisville, Teresa (Kevin) Parsons of Charleston, W.Va., Rebecca (Michael) Yates of Ashland and Mary Beth Bowling of Ashland; a sister, Helen Berry of Boyd County; seven grandchildren, Brad (Tabitha) Reeves, Shellie Reeves, Casey (Jessika) Owens, Chris Yates, Seth Hess, Alex Parsons and Austin Parsons; five great-grandchildren, Noah Reeves, Titus Reeves, Asher Reeves, Jacob Owens and Jackwelyn Owens; and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Pastor Chris Keeton. Entombment will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
