Grady Everett Albert Phillips, 58, of Ashland, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 3, 1954, in Ashland, the son of Nellie Jobe Phillips of Johnson City, Tenn., and the late Grady E. Phillips. He was a wonderful dad who loved his grandchildren and was always at home to greet his son after school. He was a professional driver for CSX Railroad and a member of American Legion Post 76. He loved to fish, bowl and watch drag racing and was a former Little League baseball coach,
He was also preceded in death by brothers Willis Phillips and Lester Phillips.
Other survivors include two sons, Lester James (Tonya Sue) Winn of Raceland and Grady Everett Albert Phillips Jr. of Findlay, Ohio; two sisters, Laura (Anthony) Branham of Johnson City and Cathy (Bill) Mosier of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Wilson Phillips of Arizona; and two grandchildren, Austin James Winn and Terry Michael McCarty III.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Ronald Fultz. Burial will be in Musser Cemetery in Catlettsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
