HUNTINGTON — Harold Eugene “Mac” McCaleb, 84, of Huntington, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

Harold was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Selma, Va., a son of the late William Brooks and Mary Pearl Craft McCaleb.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Harold Eugene “Hal” McCaleb II; and a brother, Aubrey C. McCaleb.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and retired from Steel of West Virginia. He attended Crossroads United Methodist Church and was a member of BPO Elks 313, Guyandotte Chapter 89 Order of the Eastern Star and Western Star Lodge 11, AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Garnet Francis McCaleb, and extended family, including several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at noon Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington by Pastors David Cartwright and William DeMoss.

Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, with Masonic graveside rites by Western Star Lodge 11, AF&AM, and military graveside rites by Honor Guard Post 16.  

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, 2014, at the mortuary.
