ASHLAND — Sheila Romans Rice, 53, of Rush, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born June 2, 1960, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Franklin Doyl and Rebecca Jane Withrow Romans.

Sheila was a customer service manager for Walmart for 10 years and was a graduate of Boyd County High School. She was a member of Rush Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crafts, reading, geology, ceramics, antiquing and ’70s music.

Sheila and her husband, August Rice Jr., had been together for 40 years. Also surviving are a son, Jason Rice of Rush; a daughter, Amanda (James) Hime of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Angela (Tim) Baldwin of Rush; two brothers, Ernest (Cindy) Romans of Louisville and Charles D. (Kim) Romans of Load; and two grandchildren, Cody Thomas of Soldier and Willow Rice of Ashland.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Jerry Foster. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, where there will be an Eastern Star service at 7.
