Mr. Jackie Lewis Cox, 61, of Willard, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2013, at his residence following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 14, 1951, in Webbville, a son of the late Dan and Madge Roberts Cox.
Jackie was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Bartlett Tree Co. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Ray Cox and James Edward Cox, and a sister, Betty Vanhorn.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Denise Campbell Cox; a son, Jackie Nicholas Cox of Willard; two grandchildren, Stewie Cox and Melanie Cox; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joy and Bob Williams of Cannonsburg, Kaye and David McDavid of Grayson, Charlotte Thompson of Ashland, Dinah and Rick Bustetter of Grayson and Ira Vanhorn of Louisa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Riffe Cemetery in Carter County.
