GREENUP — Kenneth Howard Douglas, 60, of Greenup, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at his home after an extended illness,

Mr. Douglas was born April 8, 1952, in Ashland, a son of the late Howard “Bud” and Arbelle Sergent Douglas.

He was a 1970 graduate of Russell High School, a retired conductor for CSX Transportation and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and AMVETS Post 95 in Greenup. His hobbies included boating and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Johnson Douglas; a daughter, Becki (Aaron) Gumbert of Ashland; a brother, Charles Douglas of Raceland; two grandchildren, Colton Gumbert and Jaleigh Gumbert; special friends Clifford (Teresa) Perkins of Raceland, George Rice of Flatwoods and Barry Oliver of Argillite; and several aunts, uncles and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by the Rev. James Webster. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, with military graveside rites by James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276 of South Shore.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
