Jack “Ed” Blankenship - 1940-2012

RICHMOND — Jack “Ed” Blankenship, 72, of Richmond, previously of Flatwoods, passed away in University of Kentucky Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.

Ed was born May 4, 1940, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late Hubert and Lorraine Wilson Blankenship.

Mr. Blankenship gained his master’s degree in teaching, and after more than 25 years of teaching, he retired from Bernado Yorba Middle School. He enjoyed life and loved to collect records. But most of all, he loved spending time with his children and family.

Survivors include his son, Jason (Ashley) Blankenship of Medina, Ohio; and two daughters, Jan Blankenship of Lexington and Lea Ann Blankenship of Richmond.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, with words of comfort by Pastor Jim Riggs. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio.

Visitation for family and friends will be two hours before services Friday at the funeral home.
