Hazel Blevins, 97, of Ky. 1, Greenup, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born in Carter County on April 10, 1915, the daughter of the late Elisha and Alifair Beair Blevins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Blevins, in 1984; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne (Wes) Stapleton of Greenup and Janet (Elwood) Poplin of Worthington; four sons, Carroll (Ginni) Blevins, Chester (Sue) Blevins Jr. and Gary (Gail) Blevins, all of Greenup, and Charles L. (Brenda) Blevins of Catlettsburg; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and a special caretaker and friend, Roberta Humbarger of Olive Hill.
She had been a resident of Ky. 1 in Greenup for 62 years. She was a member of South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church since 1977 and was a loving mother and wife.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church in Melrose, Worthington by Elders Buddy Carty and Hilliard Newsome. Burial will be in Plum Grove Cemetery in Greenup.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
