Robert Curnutte Sr. - 1947-2012

CATLETTSBURG — Robert Ray Curnutte Sr., 64, of Catlettsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born in Fallsburg on Nov. 25, 1947, a son of the late Alva and Dovie Castle Curnutte.

He was a retired stockman for Foodland Grocery and attended the Old Regular Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Verna Adkins Curnutte; a sister, Mae Back; and two brothers, Charles Curnutte and David Curnutte.

He is survived by a son, Robert Ray Curnutte Jr., and his wife, Megan, of Ironton; two grandchildren, Peighton Ruth Curnutte and Cooper Elliot Curnutte; and three sisters, Virginia Daniels of Elwood, Ind., Ruth Watson of Columbus, Ohio, and Faye Shama and her husband, David, of Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the association building of the Philadelphia Association of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Worthington by Brother Gary Adkins.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Flatwoods.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at the association building.

Services are under the direction of Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup.
