ASHLAND — Kim Rhoades, 61, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Kim was born Sept. 23, 1952, in Ashland, a daughter of Carl Chatfield and Virginia Clark Merritt.

Kim was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Ashland and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was an office clerk for Modern Foods in Ashland. Kim’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald H. Rhoades of Ashland; a son, Christopher “Rudy” Rhoades, and wife Kaylia of Ashland; a stepson, Paul Rhoades, and wife Audrey of Orlando, Fla.; brothers Charlie Chatfield and wife Janet of Ashland, Herb Merritt of Jacksonville, Fla., and Robert Chatfield of Winter Haven, Fla.; and her adoring grandchildren, Victoria Rhoades and Noah Rhoades.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Harold Moore and the Rev. Mark Smith. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
