Marshall Truitt - 1927-2014

GREENUP — Marshall Truitt, 86, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Truitt was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Raceland, a son of the late Edward Simon and Cynthia Bentley Truitt.

He was a retired carman-brake repairman with 44 years of service with the CSX Railroad in Raceland.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Fout Truitt; four brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by three sons, Wilson Edward (Susan) Truitt of Leon, W.Va., Phillip Michael Truitt of York and Mark Dwayne Truitt of Greenup; a daughter, Pam Blanton of Greenup; a brother, Charles Edward Truitt of Middletown, Ind.; a sister, Hannah Elam of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Kenneth Martin. Burial will be in Quillen Cemetery at Lynn.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
