Joseph Lloyd Warfield - 1932-2013

IRONTON — Joseph Lloyd Warfield, 81, of Ironton, passed Friday, April 19, 2013, in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton.

The Pleasant County, W.Va., native was born April 2, 1932, the son of the late Joseph Lloyd Warfield and Sarah Frances Jenkins Warfield.

Mr. Warfield was a 1949 graduate of  St. Mary’s High School in West Virginia and attended MOI School in Frankfort, Ky. Mr. Warfield was a former mechanic and auctioneer for 21 years. He was also an educator for Ashland Community Technical College for 10 years. He was a member of 10th & Vine Church of Christ in Ironton. He also enjoyed and was active with the senior citizens group.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Irene Bailey Warfield.

He is survived by two daughters, Frances Naomi Blair of Ravenna, Ohio, and Patricia Lynn (Larry) McGlone of Ashland; two sons, Kenneth William (Linda) Warfield of Portsmouth, and Robert Lee (Tammy) Warfield of Coal Grove; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and wife Martha Jane Smith-Nazelrod Warfield of Ironton.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with son Ken Warfield officiating. Burial will follow in Section C of Woodland Cemetery.
