GRAYSON — Victor Sparks, 74, of Grayson, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, with whom he resided.

He was born April 4, 1938, in Grayson, a son of the late Sherman and Odell Cline Sparks.

He was a retired pipeliner with Local 798, a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Pentecostal faith.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gaye Hanshaw Sparks.

He is survived by two sons; Marvin and Wayne Sparks, both of Grayson; five daughters, Victoria (Michael) Strock, Charlene Hall and Sue Hall, all of Grayson, Hazel Basham of Flatwoods and Darlene Stewart of Ironton, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Culver and Veronica Aiosa, both of Niles, Ohio; a stepson, Rocky Hanshaw of Pennsylvania; three brothers; two sisters; and 22 grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 W. Park Ave., Niles, OH 44446, by Garey McCartney, minister.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, March 27 at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson and after 11 a.m. Friday at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
