GREENUP — Mark Clayton Clark, 53, of Wurtland, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2013, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.

Mr. Clark was born Jan. 16, 1960, in Ashland, a son of the late John W. and Conita Conley Clark.

Mark was a proud graduate of Boyd County High School and an avid supporter of the Lions football team. He was a former assistant director of Environmental Services at KDMC, where he was a leader among his co-workers. He was a true patriot, retiring from the Kentucky National Guard after nearly 20 years of service. His favorite pastimes were playing guitar, cooking, fishing and hunting. Mark had a huge heart and genuinely cared for others.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Clark and James “Jimmy” Clark; a sister, Loretta Kay Todd; and a special friend, Emma Jean Miller.

Mark is survived by his children, Travis Michael Clark of Ashland, Adam Tyler Clark and wife Megan Brown-Clark of Morgantown, W.Va., and Allison MacKenzie Clark of Louisville; a brother, Curtis “Johnny” Clark of Catlettsburg; sisters Cheryl Rowe and Shelia Young, both of Catlettsburg, Brenda Frisby, Rita Toney and Kathy McDermott, all of Ashland; and the mother of his children, Becky Clark.

 Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2013, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg.
