Lois Dean Bowling Appleby - 1944-2013

ASHLAND — Lois Dean Bowling Appleby, 69, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, Nov. 12, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Appleby was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late L.D. and Mary Katherine Rice Bowling.

She was also preceded in death by her son, David Wayne Adams.

Lois retired from AEP, was a member of First United Methodist Church of Catlettsburg and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, David Appleby; a son, Franklin Dow Adams of Ashland; grandchildren Taylor Adams, Greg Adams, Tyrah Adams, Zachary Adams and Carter Adams; great-grandchildren Carson Botts, Bryce Carter and Caydence Adams; and sisters Cora Frailie (Peter) and Judy Boyd (Ronnie), both of Ashland.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Catlettsburg by the Rev. Charles Allen. Final rest will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 17, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to First Methodist Church, 2712 Louisa St., Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
