Virginia Lee “Jenny” Brammell Clark 1927-2013

CARTER — Virginia Lee “Jenny” Brammell Clark, 85, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Jenny was born Nov. 24, 1927, at Leon, the daughter of the late Virgil W. and Beatrice Counts Brammell.

Jenny was also preceded in death by her husband, George Clark Jr.; brothers Virgil W.  Brammell Jr. and Gordon Brammell; and sisters-in-law Nadine Brammell and Sarah Buck.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bea Stamper and husband Barry of Lexington; a brother, Leonard Brammell and wife Joyce of Ashland; grandchildren George “Jody” Mortkowitz and wife Natalie of Grayson and Jane Ann Mortkowitz and David Mortkowitz, both of Lexington; and great-grandsons Damien, Max and Jude Mortkowitz.

Jenny was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Grayson, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was the co-founder and former owner of City Florist in Grayson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by the Rev. Paul Schmidt, pastor of Grayson First Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Harry Sanders, retired pastor of Wolf Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be nephews Brian Buck, Denny Brammell, Keith Brammell, Mike Brammell, Casey Brammell, Chad Brammell and Darren Brammell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
