SANDY HOOK — Goldie Marie Jarrells Royse, 79, of Sandy Hook, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at her home.

Goldie was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Elliott County, the daughter of the late Tom Press and Nona Marie Meadows Jarrells.

She was also preceded in death by sisters Ina Mae Jarrells, Geraldine Jarrells and Honey Lou Jarrells; and brothers Willie Jarrells, Freddie Jarrells, Billy Ray Jarrells and Harlan Chester Jarrells.

Goldie had accepted the Lord as her Savior. She was a homemaker. She loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her flowers and walking.

Goldie is survived by her children, Opal Louise Pennington McClurg and husband Tim of Morehead, Claude Royse of Sandy Hook and Clyde Royse and wife Kim of Morehead; three grandchildren, Matt McClurg, Jared Michael Royse and Kristen Nicole Royse; and a great-granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth Royse.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
