BELLEFONTE — Richard Dean Lewis, 67, of Bellefonte, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Lewis was born Aug. 11, 1945, in Ashland, a son of the late Mearl Vincent Lewis and Hazel Miller Lewis of Ashland. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ray Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was retired from the Hot Strip Mill at AK Steel. He was a member of Shawnee Church of God in Flatwoods, enjoyed volunteering at Community Hospice and playing golf with friends and family. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is also survived by sons Russell Lewis and his wife, Lori, of Bellefonte and Dustin Lewis and his wife, Amanda, of Flatwoods; grandchildren Gunnur, Griffin and Bentley; and a special friend, Pat Potter.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Jim Stamper. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, with full military honors by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, W.Va.

Visitation for family and friends will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
