Charles Perfater - 1928-2012

ASHLAND — Charles Perfater, 84, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born June 1, 1928, in Ashland, a son of the late Charles William Perfater and Susan Bellomy Perfater.

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Katherine McCalvin Perfater, on May 28, 2012; a great-granddaughter, Taytum Johnson; and a sister, Margaret Perfater Melvin.

Charlie was a member of the Church of God and attended Coalton Baptist Church. He retired from Allied Chemical, Semet Solvay Division, after many years of service and currently worked for the Boyd County Public Library.

Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Gail Perfater of Ashland; a granddaughter, Anna Johnson, and her husband, Jack, of Ashland; two great-grandchildren, Hannah O’Bryan and Jaxon Johnson; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Gary Salyers. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call after noon Friday at the funeral home.
