GREENUP — Beatrice Brown, 83, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 9, 1929, in Greenup, a daughter of the late Bill and Naomi Burgess Brown.

She was the oldest member of Three Mile Christian Baptist Church in Greenup. She worked in the chuch for 50 years, for 35 years she was the clerk, secretary and treasurer.

She was definitely sure every penny was accounted for and if the money didn’t come out to an even amount she would add her own money. She was very concerned with honesty. She also loved to put on church Christmas plays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and nine sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene Brown; two sons, Darrell Brown and Devery Brown of Greenup; two daughters, Tuenica (Wendell) Howell of Ashland and Lisa (Randy) Darby of Russell; eight grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Danny Brown. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Greenup.
