ASHLAND — Charlotte Linda Thompson Barber, 85, of Lake Worth, Fla., peacefully departed this life on Oct. 11, 2012.  Linda was born in Ashland to the late Jay B. and Mattie Burton Thompson. Her brother, Tommy Thompson, also preceded her in death.

Linda graduated from Ashland Senior High School and attended Ashland Junior College and Holy Family Business School in Ashland.  She was previously employed by United Fuel Gas Company in Ashland as well as Polar Bakery and Walgreens in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Linda’s crowning achievement was her four boys. Surviving to cherish her memory are Jack R. and Rebecca Salyer Barber of Carmel, Ind., Jeffrey T. and Elizabeth Wade Barber of Raleigh, N.C., Jerry M. and Beth Roberson Barber of Lake Worth, Fla., and Joey J. and Jenny Fritz Barber of Franklin, Tenn.

Linda, affectionately known to her grandchildren as “NaNoo,” leaves behind nine grandchildren; Jason, Jesse, Caroline “Cottie,” Andrew “Drew,” Katy, Chelsey, Jordan, Jacob, and Rachel Barber. Linda also had one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Brooke Barber.  

Linda’s family would like to express special gratitude to Coral Bay Healthcare and Rehabilitation of West Palm Beach, FL, and Hospice of Palm Beach County, Fla., for their exceptional care.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be on Friday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church in Lake Worth.
