Daisy Marie Reeves - 1918-2013

ASHLAND — Daisy Marie Reeves, 94, of Ashland, passed away peacefully in her home on April 5, 2013.

She was born Nov. 27, 1918, in Hitchens, a daughter of the late Boone and Jennie Elliott Clevenger.

She lived her life as a homemaker and loving wife to her husband the late Ashland mayor, Everett B. Reeves, to whom she was married for over 50 years. Daisy was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Boyd County Democrat Club, a Kentucky colonel and attended Morehead University.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Reeves; two sisters, Kay Clevenger Tussey and Evelyn Clevenger Deyman; seven brothers, Kenneth Clevenger, Ralph Clevenger, Denzil Clevenger, Junior Clevenger, Robert Bob Clevenger, Curtis Clevenger and Walter Clevenger.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Everett David Reeves and wife Kristi of Ashland, Lee Michael Reeves and wife Cindy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cheri Lynn Reeves DiLego and husband Frank of Ashland; two great-grandsons, Benjamin Reeves and Brandon Hobbs; a great-granddaughter, Bethany Reeves of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Molly and Miles McCroskey of Portsmouth, Ohio; two brothers, Bill Clevenger of West Chester, Ohio, and Joe Clevenger of Columbus, Ohio; and her former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Reeves of Ashland. Mrs. Reeves will be remembered by many loving friends and neighbors for her devotion and love to her family and to her Heavenly Father.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Troy Poff. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Centenary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1992, Ashland, KY 41105-1992.
