Hayden Haney, 89, of Grayson, died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec.14, 1923, in Grayson, a son of the late Hobert and Myrtle Burchett Haney.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Haney Prichard, and a brother, Carl Ray Haney.
He was a member of the Grayson Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years. He loved to make wooden toys and gave them to anyone who admired them. He loved to travel, and he and his wife, Inez, took many trips together, visiting many different places.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Inez Seagraves Haney; a sister, Mary Haney Sweeney of Grayson; two sisters-in-law, Betty Hunt Haney of Wurtland and Ruby Seagraves Baier of Grayson; a brother-in-law, Harold Laber of Grayson; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and who will miss him so much.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Elder Scott Baier. Burial will be in Edison Cemetery on Mayhew Flats near Grayson. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the funeral home.
