Shirley Lou Day Russell Fields Walker 1938-2014

CATLETTSBURG — Shirley Lou Day Russell Fields Walker, 75, of Catlettsburg, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 24, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Walker was born April 7, 1938, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Bunyan and Della Brown Day.

She was also preceded in death by husbands Raymond Russell and Phil Fields; a brother, Larry Ashley; and sisters Betty Pearson and Marguerite Vanhorn.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing and cooking. She always considered England Hill Freewill Baptist Church her home church.

Left to cherish memories are her children, Gary Day and Brenda Arthur, both of Florida, Larry Russell of Catlettsburg, Jerry Russell of Coal Grove, Ohio, and Regina Russell of Catlettsburg; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Day of Catlettsburg; sisters Louvonne Jarrell of Wurtland, Gayla Schultz of Texas and Irene Carpenter of Ohio; a very special granddaughter, Emily Lou Russell; and her little canine companion, Lady Bug.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Final rest will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
