Brian Scott Shelton - 1962-2013

WESTWOOD — Brian Scott Shelton, 50, of Westwood, husband of Danelle Harless Shelton, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2013, at his residence.  

Scott was born Aug. 4, 1962, in Ashland, a son of Phyllis Barker Shelton of Westwood, and the late Jimmy Shelton.  

Scott was self employed after 17 years with Kentucky Electric Steel, he enjoyed fishing and University of Kentucky basketball. He was a member of the Ashland Elks BPOE 350 Daniel Boone Aerie, a Kentucky colonel and was a member of the 1974 Ashland National Little League All Star Team, a 1980 graduate of Fairview High School and a 1984 graduate of Morehead State University and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.  

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, include two daughters, Samantha Grace Shelton, and Sydney Shae Shelton, both of Westwood; two brothers, Mark Stephen Shelton, wife, Marcia, and their daughter, Charlotte René of Fort Knox, and James Allen Shelton of Columbus, Ohio.  Scott is also survived by his close friends, Rick Lambert, Steve Barlow, Bob Morris, Bill Wheeler and Steve Kelley; and aunts and uncles, Richard and Terri Holley of Columbus, Ohio, Larry and Tana Evans of Walhalla, South Carolina, and Royce and Jonda Carter of Fort Worth, Texas.  

The funeral will be  at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, by Pastor Tom Leach at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.  

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
