James Davis Morrison, 83, of Ashland, passed away, Jan. 25, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Cyril Eugene and Lena Davis Morrison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Morrison, and Stanley Morrison; and a sister, Eugenia Barnett.
James was a graduate and lifelong supporter of Wayne High School and Marshall University. He was a United States Korean War Veteran and self-employed Food Broker.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara June Kimberlin Morrison of Ashland; two sons, Mike Morrison and wife, Jan of Huntington, W.Va. and Kent Morrison and wife, Diane of Ashland; a daughter, Barbara Ross and husband Ron of Ashland; a sister in law, Phyllis Morrison of Huntington; a grandson, Ian Simpson; five step grandchildren, Ryan Sarver, Ron Ross Jr., Patrick Ross, Abby Barnes, and Shelley Murphy; and a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Community Hospice Home Care and Care Center in Ashland for the outstanding care Jim received during his final days.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by the Reverend Rod Barnett.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
