GREENUP — Jimmy Pennington, 62, of Greenup, died at his residence on Friday, Jan. 26, 2013.  

He was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Elliott County, a son of the late Lon Sr. and Gladys Porter Pennington.  

He was an Army veteran and self-employed carpenter.  

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lon Pennington Jr.; and a sister, Matilda Pennington.  

His survivors include three sons, Jimmy (Linda) Pennington Jr, Allen Pennington and Joseph Pennington, all of Ashland; one daughter, Tina (fiancé Michael Johnson)  Pennington of Wurtland; two sisters, Betty (Don) Adkins and Linda Pennington both of Webbville; five brothers, Ronald Pennington of Webbville, John (Sharon) Pennington of Olive Hill, Jerry Pennington of Morehead, Roger (Barb) Pennington of Lexington, and Donald (Rhonda) Pennington of Flatwoods; 15 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.  

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at the New Life Victory Center in Webbville, with David Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Pennington Family Cemetery at Webbville.  

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Malone Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
