GRAYSON — James Edmond Cherry Jr., 60, of Grayson, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Louisville, a son of the late James Edmond Sr. and Dessie Marie Mullins Cherry.

Jim was retired from Marathon Catlettsburg Refinery and was a volunteer with Grayson Meals on Wheels and was a supporter of East Carter Athletes. His survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joan Marie Lueke Cherry of Grayson; and three sons, James Bradley Cherry, Gregory Edmond Cherry and John Bernard Cherry, all of Grayson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Barrett Bush and Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
