ASHLAND — Rose E. Waggoner, 88, of Ashland, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born July 20, 1925, in Williamsburg, the daughter of the late James and Lillie Tye Garland. She was the former owner of U.S. 60 Furniture Store. She loved to garden and was of the Baptist faith.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Waggoner; a sister, Edith Hammonds; and three brothers, Claude Garland, Luther Garland and Ray Garland.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth March of Mount View, Calif.; a brother, Hugh Garland of Flint, Mich.; three nephews, William V. “Bill” Waggoner and wife Vicki of Ashland, Tony M. Waggoner and wife Paulette of Ashland and Richard Beasley of Ohio; three nieces, Karen Thaxton and husband Michael of Ashland, Leigh Waggoner of Ashland and Penny Kay Iguessi of San Jose, Calif.; her special caregiver, Martha Mills of Ashland; special friends Nada Fields and Joanne Lucas of Ashland; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum by the Rev. Jim Nichols. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.

There will be no visitation. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
