Hazel Cleavenger Crum - 1927-2013

IRONVILLE — Hazel Crum, 86, of Ironville, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon with her loving family at her side following an extended illness.  

Hazel was born March 25, 1927, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Milford and Gypsy Ogden Cleavenger.  

Hazel was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Crum, in 2005; a daughter, Pamela Carol Sipps, in 2010; four brothers; and two sisters.  

She was a member of Russell Christian Baptist Church and attended Hilltop Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, James David “Butch” Crum and his wife, Sheri, of Greenup and Rocky Risner and his wife, Charlotte, of Greenup; a daughter, Deborah Kazee of Ironville; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Willard Nolen and Brother Jimmy Webster. Burial will be in Coalton Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
