ASHLAND — Jackie “J.R.” Lee Hanshaw II, 48, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

He was born Sept. 1, 1964, in Ironton. The son of the late Jackie Lee Hanshaw I and Anna Lee Hicks of Ironton, who survives.

He is also survived by his wife of 27 years, Therese M. Brown Hanshaw of Franklin Furnace, whom he married Sept. 12, 1985.

Jack was a machinist for McSweeneys, Inc. and was an avid motorcyclist. He was of the Non-denominational faith.

In addition to his wife and mother, Jack is also survived by one daughter, Jenna Marie Hanshaw of Franklin Furnace; a mother-in-law, Nella Marie Brown of Ironton; four brothers, Marvin Gullett of Somerset, Richard Gullett of Catlettsburg, Denver Gullett of Somerset and Scott Hanshaw of Ashland; and one sister, Tracy Hanshaw of Ironton.  

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street in Ironton with the Rev. Jimmy Cremeans officiating.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. till the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
