Maxine Fannin Adkins - 1918-2013

SANDY HOOK — Maxine Fannin Adkins, age 95, of Sandy Hook, passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 18, 2013, in Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.

Mrs. Adkins was born May 20, 1918, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late John and Rinda Caskey Fannin.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Watson Enterprise Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Adkins; one daughter, Maryln Lyon; and one infant son.

She is survived by her family of two sons and daughters-in-law; Delmas and Patty Adkins, Donnie and Sandy Adkins, all of Sandy Hook; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Ray Johnson of Mount Sterling and Nettie and Johnnie Coffey of Winchester; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Fannin Skaggs of Zenia, Ohio (who is 98 years young); one sister-in-law, Eva Adkins Gibson of Sandy Hook; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends, who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Brother Jimmy Adkins and Brother Danny Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Elliott County Memory Gardens.

Visitation was from 11 a.m to service time Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were the grandsons.
