Nora Lee Keyes - 1934-2012

GRAYSON — Nora Lee Keyes, 77, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  

She was born Oct. 2, 1934, in Denton, a daughter of the late Herbert and Charity McWhorter Burke.  

Nora served her community as the Hitchins Postmaster for 37 years. She was a Christian and faithful attendee of the Hitchins Wesleyan Church.  

She was preceded in death by sisters Pearl Swartzswelder, Dorothy Farmer and Hatty James and two brothers, John E. Burke and Everett Burke.  

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tommy Keyes. Her other survivors include two sisters, Virginia Waggoner and Joyce Berry, both of Grayson; one brother, Donald Ray Burke of Grayson; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Brother George T. Smith and Brother Delmar Rogers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memorial Gardens.  

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hitchins Wesleyan Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 97, Hitchins, KY 41146.
