Ruth Crabtree Williams, 92, of Catlettsburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Williams was born July 30, 1921, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Genoa Large Williams.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Williams; a daughter, Edna Jenkins; brothers, Shelby Blankenship, Russell Large, Harrison Crabtree, Clyde Crabtree and Jay Crabtree; and sisters, Edna Cartwright and Celia McComas.
Ruth worked for Timpkins Roller Bearing in Columbus, Ohio, during World War II. She was a homemaker and loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Eddie Williams, JoAnn and Larry Hill, Donald and Teresa Williams, all of Catlettsburg, Linda and Joe McKenney of Nicholasville, Robert and Diane Williams of Cookeville, Tenn., Arthur and Debbie Williams of South Point, Ohio, and Diana and David Bowling of Rush; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and special additional family members, son-in-law, Earl (Darlene) Jenkins, Joe Amos, Mike Amos and Becky Wilson, all of Catlettsburg.
The funeral service for Mrs. Williams will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Pastor Mike Amos will officiate. Final rest will be in Buchanan Chapel Cemetery.
Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
