Earl Wayne Gilbert, 72, of Oldtown, passed away Jan. 4, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 21, 1941, a son of the late Earl W. Gilbert and Lois Fay Wells Gilbert.
Earl was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a retired logger.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Rice, and a stepson, Wesley Kilburn.
Surviving are his two daughters, Amanda Gilbert of Greenup and Rhonda (Bill) Stevens of Boyd County; a son, David Gilbert of Flatwoods; two stepdaughters, Janice (Chris) Johnson of Greenup and Connie (Paul) Hunt of South Shore; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 7, 2014, at South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Mallory. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery in Oldtown.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today, Jan. 7, 2014, at the church.
