STEPHENS — Brenda Lynn Howard, 49, of Stephens, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in  Ashland.

Brenda was born Jan. 10, 1963, in Grayson, the daughter of the late Boyd and Thelma Griffith, Donnie Griffith of Sandy Hook and Dolly Burton of Grayson.

Brenda and her husband of 31 years, Donnie Howard, own the Big 4 Store at Stephens, where she enjoyed visiting with her customers.

She was also preceded in death by uncles Delmas Griffith and Harold Dean Griffith, whom she thought of as brothers.

In addition, she is survived by two sons, D.J. and wife Megan Howard of Olive Hill and Dustin and wife Jenny Howard of Grayson; and her grandchildren who gave her so much joy, Shaeleigh Bays of Grayson and Zaydn and Zylee Howard of Grayson. Brenda was also looking forward to the arrival of Raelynn Elise Howard.

She is also survived by brothers Tony and wife Crystal Griffith of Sandy Hook and Jesse Boggs of Grayson; a sister, Norma Kelley of Grayson; uncles whom she considered brothers, L.D. and wife Becky Griffith of Inez and Gary and Elizabeth Griffith of Sandy Hook; and an aunt, Joann Griffith of Sandy Hook.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. Burial will be in Howard Family Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
