ASHLAND — Frances Murphy Runyon Napier, 65, of Ashland, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at her home.

Ms. Napier was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Ashland, daughter of the late Paul E. and Opal Hicks Murphy. She was a manager for Denny’s until her retirement in 2001 and a member of Wurtland Church of God. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking, and loved watching the UK Wildcats. Above all else, she loved and cared for her family.

Frances leaves behind her daughters, Cindy Jarrell (Mary) of Kenosha, Wis., and Faye Webster (Scotty) of Fredricksburg, Va.; grandchildren Drew, Daniel, Alicia and David; four great-grandchildren; brothers Sylvester “Buddy” Murphy (Mary) of Florahome, Fla., Paul Murphy of Berne, Ind., David Murphy (Tabitha) of Catlettsburg, Mike Murphy (Susie) of Glenn, Calif., and Rick Murphy (April) of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; sisters Loretta Runyon (Mike) of Louisa, Nella Stewart (Paul) of Louisa, Brenda Galloway (Larry) of Geneva, Ind., Sharon Crye (Curt) of Catlettsburg and Roberta McKenzie of Argillite; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Clover, and a sister, Margaret Hood.

Funeral services for Ms. Napier will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg by Bishop Henry Montgomery. Final rest will be in Murphy Cemetery at Friendship in  Catlettsburg.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
